6th DATEX II Forum

DATEX II at the Heart of Connectivity

With Version 3, DATEX II is now at the heart of connectivity, supporting the digitalisation of road traffic and travel information. Next to important updates implemented for national road operators and service providers, DATEX II has broadened its focus to the domains of urban mobility, electromobility charging infrastructure, logistics, electronic traffic regulations and cooperative, connected and automated mobility. Both the Webinar Series and the physical Forum in June will reflect these themes and topics in both the management, functional and technical streams.

For the first webinar day on the 25th of November, the 6th DATEX II Forum will open its online doors to all system users, software developers, information architects, ITS consultants as well as policy and decision-makers interested in DATEX II. Webinar day 4 - New developments in DATEX II content
Webinar no. 4 will be on the recent developments on the content side. We want to share with you some great achievements on the alignment of harmonising SRTI data-sets with important communities in adjoining domains like TISA and C-ITS.
On the content side there are two developments which are really relevant in relation to the rapid development of services in general, and especially those related to automated driving. DATEX II took up the activity to support the required digitalisation of traffic regulations in general and we want to share two practical applications of that with you in the form of UVAR's (Urban vehical access regulations) and the applications of Dynamic Lane Management. Another relevant development we want to share and discuss with you is on the track of the support of DATEX II in the context of API developments, Linked Open Data, DATEX II Light etc.

Webinar day 5 - Implementing DATEX II Exchange 2020
Two years after the first introduction of DATEX II Exchange, our team has been busy working on the next set of improvements for the transfer of data. This has now become available in Exchange 2020! The talks in this live demo-ing session will all be technical in nature, as we go through the new features for selecting the right Functional Exchange profile, exchanging feature selection, combining the Exchange packages with the content profile and how to implement this in your softwaretooling. We discuss the practical application of the DATEX II UML profile in creating models and extensions.

Concluding DATEX II PSA Webinar
Today is the day to look back and to look forward into the near future of ITS and the role DATEX II is playing in this landscape. Looking back on the great steps the DATEX II community has made to contribute to the acceleration of the digitalisation of traffic, travel and its related management processes. During the day demonstrations of DATEX II implementations benefiting from the enhancements will underline the relevance of the work done. It will also be obvious that the work isn't finished yet. Many challenges with regard to ongoing digitalisation, extending scopes of adjoining functional and technical domains make that we have to continue our development work. Work that more and more needs to be done in close cooperation with the adjoining domains. During this day many facets of the future of DATEX II will be presented. With this we foresee a sustainable future of DATEX II in the ITS Ecosystem!

Registration is done per webinar day. You will receive updates on the programme based on your selection of webinar days. Within each webinar day you are free to choose which session(s) you want to attend, taking into account the three streams: management, functional and technical. So feel free to attend whatever session sparks your interest!

Please register for the webinar series here.

Content Streams

The webinars are addressing subjects that are of interest to different target groups in our audience. We have identified three target groups that each have dedicated streams of relevant sessions to them. The Management Stream explains when to use DATEX II and how to deploy it from a strategical perspective. The Functional Stream aims at those who want to use DATEX II in their data exchange service for a specific functional domain, such as traffic management, parking or Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure data provision. The Technical Stream goes into the technical details of the specification, the tools of the DATEX II standard and the technical deployment of DATEX II.

All webinar talks will be organized and moderated by our own DATEX II experts. Please be aware that al questions posed in the chat during the webinar talks will be stored so that the DATEX II Organization may opt to answer any remaining questions after the sessions have ended.

What about the physical Forum you normally organize?

COVID-19 is affecting all of our lives. It impacts our private and work-life in an unprecedented way. No one can tell at the moment how things will evolve and what restrictions for conventions, traveling and social distancing will stay in place until when. This uncertainty affects of course also the set-up of this year’s DATEX II Forum. As our main goal for the Forum has always been to bring the DATEX II community together to exchange experiences, we prefer to organize a physical Forum in Paris. However, your health and safety must come first.

As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, DATEX II will organize its 6th DATEX II Forum in a slightly different setting: A webinar series will start on the original scheduled first day of the 2020 DATEX II Forum, November 25th of 2020. The webinar series will end with a concluding webinar on June 9th!

This setup enables us to share with you the tremendous progress and interesting new capabilities of DATEX II already this year and to bring together the DATEX II community.
